On October 8th and 9th, the kick-off meeting for the Safe H‑DRI project took place, bringing together industry leaders and experts from across Europe. The project aims to ensure the safe transport and handling of hydrogen-based direct reduced iron (H‑DRI), a key element for the future of green steel production.
We’re proud to announce that the Safety and Disaster Working Group is actively participating in the Safe H‑DRI project! MUL-TPT will conduct lab-scale tests using a specialized differential circuit reactor to study the reaction kinetics of H‑DRI under controlled conditions.
Additionally, the group will investigate the explosibility of H‑DRI fines using a two-step approach in the 20 L SIWEK apparatus. The tests allows to determine the risk of dust explosions and classify the explosion potential of H‑DRI.
Together, we’re taking steps to ensure that the future of sustainable steel is safe for everyone!
